Harrogate, TN- The Lincoln Memorial softball team will open the conference slate of their season on Thursday, March 7th, as they travel to Virginia to take on UVA Wise in a doubleheader at 1 PM and 3 PM.Â
The 13-11 squad is led by
Reese Vivrette in batting average, hitting .463 so far with 31 hits and a 1.169 OPS.
Madison Henry,
Sterre den Duijn, and
Hanna Bogoski have also all been key with 20 or more hits each on the season. Bogoski also leads the team currently with 21 RBIs.
Victoria Conley and
Margot van Eijl have been key on the mound for the Lady Splitters. Conley is 4-1 on the season with a 3.67 ERA. Van Eijl has posted a 1.53 WHIP so far this season, holding hitters to .286 at the plate.
This will be the 20th meeting between the two programs, a series that LMU current holds 13-6. Wise is 8-10 on the season, including their most recent series of doubleheader losses against Wingate and a doubleheader win against Wheeling University. Kara Long is a key player to watch for the Cavaliers, .489 on the season with a .745 slugging percentage.Â
