No. 11 LMU Men’s Golf Set for Copperhead Championship

Palm Harbor, FL — The Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team returns to competition October 13–14 at the Copperhead Championship, hosted by West Florida on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook. The 54-hole event brings together one of the deepest Division II fields of the fall.

LMU enters the week following a 5th-place finish at the AU/Erskine Currahee Invitational, where the Railsplitters posted 874 (+10). Morgan Cain led the way with a T-10 at 215 (–1), backed by Dylan Hussey's T-13 at 216 (E) and Harry Dickins' T-25 at 219 (+3). Earlier this season, Cain captured individual medalist honors at the UNG Mizuno Intercollegiate and was named the SAC Men's Golfer of the Week, signaling strong early-season form.

In the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll released October 10, LMU climbed to No. 11 in the nation. The Copperhead field features many of the country's elite, including No. 1 West Florida, No. 2 North Georgia, No. 3 Florida Southern, No. 4 Lee, No. 5 Georgia Southwestern, No. 6 Central Oklahoma, No. 7 Grand Valley State, No. 8 Lander, No. 9 Wingate, and No. 10 Columbus State. Other nationally ranked programs set to compete include USC Beaufort (No. 12), Nova Southeastern (No. 14), Lynn (No. 15), Saint Leo (No. 24), and Rollins (No. 21), giving the Railsplitters another premier stage to showcase their ability.

LMU looks to carry its momentum onto Copperhead's demanding layout and post another strong performance against top-tier opposition. The leaderboard can be followed live via the link below.
