Women's Basketball To Host Conference Crossover Challenge Friday And Saturday

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's basketball will begin their 2025-2026 season hosting the Conference Crossover Challenge on November 14-15, as they invite King and Converse from the Conference Carolinas and Middle Georgia from the Peach Belt Conference. The Lady Railsplitters will face King on Friday, November 14th at 4 pm and play against Converse on Saturday, November 15th at 3 pm. 

Lincoln Memorial has begun the regular season with the Conference Crossover Challange since the 2021-2022 season. 

In the South Atlantic Conference Preseason Poll, LMU was voted to finish seventh in the SAC. Seniors Alexa Smiddy and Kamil Collier were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team, as the Lady Railsplitters were the only team in the conference to have two players on the preseason all-conference team. 

LMU vs King - Friday, November 14th @ 4 pm
Friday's contest will be the 22nd overall meeting between the Tornado and the Lady Railsplitters, with LMU dominating the series 15-6. Their most recent match up was last season on November 10th, 2024, where Lincoln Memorial fell to King 54-68. The last time that the two teams played each other in Harrogate was on November 13, 2021, and Lincoln Memorial fell to King 49-71. 

In the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, King was voted to finish ninth out of the 16 teams in the CC, earning 115 total points. The conference also identified three players to watch from the Tornado: Le'Aije Ellington, Jaelyn West, and Ashley Allen. 

LMU vs Converse - Saturday, November 15th @ 3 pm
Lincoln Memorial will enter double-digits in the amount of times LMU and Converse will have faced each other as it will be the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Lady Railsplitters are undefeated in the series 9-0. The most recent contest between the Lady Railsplitters and the Valkyries was also last season on November 9th, 2024, and LMU came out victorious 69-52. The last time the two teams faced off at home was on November 12th, 2021, where Lincoln Memorial defeated Converse 82-52.

In the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, the Valkyries were voted to finish 11th out of the 16 teams in the CC, earning 81 total points. The conference also identified three players to watch from Converse: Tatiana Brown, Madison Fileen, and Mazie Helpman. 

In addition to Lincoln Memorial's two games, there will be two more match ups — one on Friday and another on Saturday. Information about all four games in the Crossover can be found here.
