Harrogate, TN — The Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's track & field programs are set to open the indoor season this weekend, traveling to Nashville, Tennessee, for the Winter Commodore Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt University. The two-day meet brings together a strong lineup of regional Division I and Division II programs, giving the Railsplitters an early chance to evaluate their competitive readiness.

On Thursday, the South Atlantic Conference released its preseason poll, seeing the women's team tabbed fifth in the conference, and the men's team picked ninth in the conference. Lincoln Memorial will feature a balanced group of returners and newcomers across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws. The conference also listed its "Athletes to Watch", highlighting Kylee Alvis, Reaghan Curde, Maggie Sanderson, and Olivia Truelove for the women's team, and Simon Fillers, Sam Fulton, Avery Hatfield, and Nile Mclymont for the men's team.

The meet begins Saturday, Dec. 6 inside Vanderbilt's Multipurpose Facility. 

The Winter Commodore Challenge serves as the first key competition on Lincoln Memorial's indoor schedule, leading into the upcoming meets at Tryon International and building toward the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships.
