Mount Olive, NC - The Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team will travel to Mount Olive, NC to face the Trojans of Mount Olive Saturday, with the game set to begin at 1 pm.
This will be the first time ever in program history that the Railsplitters and the Trojans will be facing each other.
Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 9-6 win against William Jewell.
Daniel Pearl and
Rhodes Conroy would lead in points on the night, both tallying 2 goals and 1 assist for 3 points.
Gavin Reid would add 2 goals, and
Haden Berry,
Ashton Wilson, and
Alex Winters would each add 1 goal. Berry would lead the night in ground balls with 7 and won 11/16 face-offs. Wilson and
John Lombel would be the game-leaders in caused turnovers with 4 each.
Connor Fitzgibbon would earn 2 saves on the night.
Currently, Pearl is the team-leader in points with 8, which includes 5 goals and 3 assists. Conroy is 1 point behind him with 7, tallying 5 goals and 2 assists, with Conroy tallying 1 game-winning goal. Winters currently has the only man-up goal of the season. Berry is leading in ground balls with 12 and face-offs won, winning 24/35 face-offs. Lombel is first on the team in caused turnovers with 6.
In the SAC, Lombel is third in the conference in caused turnovers with 6, and Berry is third in the conference in face-offs won with 24. Fitzgibbon is fourth in the conference in saves with 19 and ninth in the conference in save percentage with a percentage of 45.2%.
Nationally, Berry is 10th in the nation in face-off winning percentage with .686. Lombel is tied for 5th in the nation in caused turnovers per game with 3.
As a team, LMU is tied for 2nd in the SAC in caused turnovers with 29, 5th in ground balls with 56, and 5th in face-offs won with 30. Nationally, LMU is tied for 3rd in the nation in caused turnovers per game with 14.50, and12th in face-off winning percentage with .612.
Mount Olive is coming off of a 12-6 win against Virginia State.
