Men’s Tennis Makes School History

HARROGATE, Tenn - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released their DII Men's Top 25 Coaches Poll for March 5th, 2025. The Railsplitters have moved up four spots on the rankings chart, making them 18th in the nation. This ranking will make history and break the school record as the highest the Men's Tennis team has ever ranked. 

The only team that are in this poll from the conference are Wingate University in 25th. Just below the 25th mark is Catawba University ranking 29th and Lenore-Rhyne in 30th. 

Along with the team ranking, there have also been a few individuals who are now ranked nationally. Alexandru Giurea would rank 49th place for singles. While Giurea and Hugo Ruiz Espejo would rank 29th in the nation for doubles. 

The Railsplitters are continuing to climb up the rankings and they just received their first conference win of the season against Anderson University. The LMU Men's Tennis team will play their next match against Coker University on March 8th.
