Harrogate, TN- #23 Lincoln Memorial () will make the hour and some change trip to Jefferson City, Tennessee on Saturday, March 8th, for a SAC softball doubleheader against Carson-Newman (15-7, 2-0). The games are scheduled for 1 PM and 3 PM.

Lincoln Memorial hits the road after opening South Atlantic Conference action this past week with a home series split over (RV) Emory & Henry. LMU is ranked for the first time since 2023, earning the #23 spot in the NFCA/GoRout DII Top 25 Coaches Poll. The name of the game for the Railsplitters is getting on base, drawing 84 free bases either via walk or hit-by-pitch so far this season to contribute to a .383 on-base percentage. As a team, LMU is hitting .301 with 30 doubles on the stat sheet. Hanna Bogoski leads in average, hitting .370 with a .444 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage. Hannah McMeen's .531 leads the slugging percentage category, also taking charge in the runs scored category with 19. Anna Kate Reichter is the team leader in hits, her 24 contributing to a .338 batting average. The pitching staff has held opponents to a .280 average on the season, holding a 2.83 ERA and 1.38 WHIP collectively. They are led by Halle Grace Patton, whose 12-2 record is comprised of 12 complete games, five shutouts, and one save for a 1.35 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. 

Carson-Newman began conference play this past Tuesday, earning a series win over Newberry. Their team is hitting .378 overall with a .453 on-base percentage and .639 slugging percentage. The Eagles are averaging over eight runs per game with 31 home runs total. SieAnna Cameron leads the squad with a slash line of .513/.542/.795 while Mari Robbins holds nine of their home runs. The C-N pitching staff holds a collective 5.30 ERA and has held their opponents to a .292 average on the season. The rivalry runs deep, Carson-Newman holding the edge all-time but the schools splitting both of the previous two years' head-to-head matchups.
