Kasten Harvey was voted the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced Thursday. The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Harvey, a senior from Easley, SC, carries a 3.84 cumulative GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. He has been named a Dean's List student and has earned the LMU Splitter Scholar and A.B.E. Scholar honors every semester. He is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society and was selected to the Academic All-District Team for his excellence in the classroom.
On the field, Harvey has had an exceptional career for the Railsplitters. He is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and earned multiple All-Region honors from ABCA, NCBWA, and D2CCA. In 2024, he led all of Division II in doubles, hitting 25 in 50 games. He broke LMU's career and single-season home run records during his senior campaign, finishing the season with a .352 batting average, 18 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a 1.242 OPS.
Harvey has also shown strong leadership and dedication off the field. He served as a resident assistant, was a student assistant in the weight room, and held a position on the team's leadership council. He participated in multiple service initiatives, including the Vs. Cancer fundraiser for East Tennessee Children's Hospital, church cleanup efforts, and campus community events like Halloween Havoc.
