Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial women's wrestler and recent graduate Stephanie Castro has been announced as one of two winners of the South Atlantic Conference McGriff Insurance Services Minority Postgraduate Scholarship. Castro, a senior from Joliet, Ill., has been a member of the women's wrestling team from 2021-25 and the captain of the team each season. She has been a seven-time selection to the Dean's List and also made Chi Alpha Sigma this year. She earned the Academics Before Everything award three times and earned the Airgas Scholarship from 2022-25. She also earned a Boys and Girls Club Scholarship during that same time frame. She has volunteered as a wrestling coach from 2023-24 and has been a member of the exercise science club from 2022-25. She plans to become a doctor in physical therapy and run her own clinic in the East Tennessee area.

The McGriff Insurance Services Minority Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded to SAC minority student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and have completed their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. Both Jackson and Castro will receive a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of $3,000 toward the graduate school of their choice.
