Harrogate, TN - Following its best season it program history, the Lincoln Memorial field hockey team is hoping to parlay its positive momentum into the 2025 season. Now in her second year, head coach Marnie Reidell will lead her team onto the field to take on the Maryville University (MO) Saints and the Saint Louis Billikens on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Last season, the Railsplitters defeated the Saints, seeing Lincoln Memorial secure its first home win in program history, leading to what would be three straight wins and the best stretch of games to this point in program history. Lincoln Memorial returns four foundational players from last season's team.
Olivia Rosini,
Brooke Foster,
Kiara Aleskovich, and
Guadalupe Montaldo return for another season of field hockey with Lincoln Memorial. Foster and Rosini each played in the Railsplitters' inaugural season of field hockey competition in 2022, with Montaldo and Aleskovich each arriving as freshmen in 2023. All four have solidified themselves as stout defenders, great leaders, and knowledgeable players. Rosini and Montaldo were named "Players to Watch" by the conference on Thursday alongside newcomers
Cayla Wiggins,
Jolie Plaisier, and
Kelsey Beauchamp. The Railsplitters roster features 11 freshman players, making them one of the youngest teams in the conference. Lincoln Memorial will lean on the experience of its foundational players to make the acclimation process a more seamless transition for its younger players.
The Railsplitters get the season started on Saturday at 11 AM in Saint Louis, MO against Maryville University with a quick turnaround on Sunday, playing the Saint Louis Billikens on Sunday at noon. Lincoln Memorial will play the Saints on FloSports and the Billikens on ESPN+.
