HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University softball returns to the Dorothy Neely Softball Complex this weekend to host the LMU Invitational, welcoming Wayne State, Tiffin and Bluefield State for two days of nonconference action in Harrogate.
The Railsplitters enter the weekend with momentum at the plate after scoring 40 runs over the first six games of the season while batting .298 as a team. Hanna Bogoski has led the offense early, hitting .450 with nine hits and a team-high five RBI, while Hannah McMeen is batting .444 with eight hits, four RBI and a team-best .545 on-base percentage. Reese Vivrette is off to a strong start as well, hitting .429 with nine hits and a team-high eight runs scored, and Anna Kate Reichter is batting .368 with three doubles, six runs scored and a .981 OPS.
In the circle, LMU has combined for 25 strikeouts through 36.1 innings. Brooke Strickland has logged the most work with 19.0 innings and 17 strikeouts, while Katie Fultz has posted a 2.52 ERA with seven strikeouts in 8.1 innings. Jasmine Kaylor and Aslynn Lupton have also provided early innings as the Railsplitters continue to build depth heading into another full weekend of games.
LMU opens its tournament slate Saturday at noon against Wayne State, a GLIAC program that was picked fifth in the league's preseason coaches poll. The matchup continues a series that has been split in two prior meetings, with the Railsplitters earning an 8-7 win in the most recent game on Feb. 14, 2025 in Harrogate. Lincoln Memorial then faces Tiffin at 2 p.m. Saturday in another matchup with recent history, as the Railsplitters earned a 9-2 win over the Dragons last season on Feb. 2, 2025. Tiffin was picked first in the G-MAC preseason poll after a 43-win campaign in 2025.
Sunday begins with a noon rematch against Wayne State before LMU closes the weekend at 4 p.m. versus Bluefield State. The Big Blue were selected seventh in the CIAA preseason poll and open their season at the LMU Invitational. Lincoln Memorial and Bluefield State last met in 2017, with LMU winning both matchups in Harrogate.
