Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University baseball team is set to return to Lamar Hennon Field for a midweek non-conference matchup against Thomas More University on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The Railsplitters enter the contest with a 5-6 overall record and a 2-1 mark in South Atlantic Conference play following a successful 2-1 series victory over rival Carson-Newman this past weekend. Tuesday's game marks a significant milestone for the visiting Saints, as it serves as their 2026 season opener.
The Railsplitter offense has been powered by several high-performing starters through the first eleven games of the season. Aaron Hobson leads the team with a .400 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage, while Gabe Gray has been a consistent force with a .395 average and 17 hits. Brady Morse provides significant power in the lineup, slugging .558 with 11 runs batted in and a 1.018 OPS. Additionally, Peyton Mullannix and Caleb Jordan have been staples on the basepaths, combining for 19 runs scored and 10 stolen bases so far this spring.
On the mound, Lincoln Memorial has relied on a steady pitching staff that has combined for 79 strikeouts over 94 innings. Lucas Smith has been a standout performer, posting a 2.08 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 13 innings of work. Payton Armour has also provided quality depth with a 2.41 ERA in three appearances, while Easton Barnett has been effective in relief with a 3.09 ERA and 8 strikeouts. The Railsplitters will look to utilize their depth against a Thomas More squad that is seeing its first live action of the year.
