Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial softball returns to action Wednesday with a home doubleheader against King at the Dorothy Neely Softball Complex, looking to build on a strong start at the plate and continue tightening things up in the circle. Through eight games, LMU is hitting .276 as a team with 59 hits and 43 runs scored, while also showing patience with 32 walks and adding pressure on the bases with 18 stolen bases.
A handful of Railsplitters have helped drive the early offense. Hanna Bogoski and Reese Vivrette are both batting .385, with Vivrette also scoring a team-high eight runs. Anna Kate Reichter is hitting .360 and leads the team with four doubles, while Jordann Reagan has provided extra-base pop with a home run and a 1.185 OPS. In the circle, LMU has combined for 35 strikeouts in 50.1 innings, with Brooke Strickland (24.2 IP, 22 K) and Jasmine Kaylor (2-0) anchoring the staff early.
The matchup also brings a quick reminder from the first meeting earlier this season, when King earned a 5-1 win in Johnson City. LMU's run came in the third inning on Kristin Griffin's sacrifice fly, and Vivrette paced the offense with a 2-for-4 day. Historically, the series has been competitive, but King has won the last four meetings, and LMU will be aiming to flip that script on Wednesday.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 3:00 p.m. Live stats and video coverage can be found on the LMU athletics website.
