Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial baseball team is scheduled to host Hillsdale College for a three game series at Lamar Hennon Field beginning this Friday. The opening contest is set for a 3 PM first pitch followed by a 1 PM start on Saturday. The weekend series will conclude with a noon match up on Sunday.
The Lincoln Memorial offense enters the weekend led by Gabe Gray who has provided a spark at the plate with a .444 batting average and a 1.055 on base plus slugging percentage. Peyton Mullannix and Brady Morse have also been reliable contributors early in the season as both players currently hold a .375 average. Morse has been particularly effective at driving in runs totaling four RBIs and a .750 slugging percentage through the first four games. Alex Kowalski provides additional power in the lineup matching Morse with four RBIs while maintaining a .647 slugging percentage. Caleb Jordan adds depth to the top of the order with a .353 average and six hits on the year.
On the mound the Railsplitters have seen strong performances from several key arms. Lucas Smith has been dominant in his appearances surrendering no earned runs over four innings of work while limiting opponents to a .143 batting average. Easton Barnett has been a workhorse for the staff logging six and two thirds innings with a 2.70 earned run average and four strikeouts. Payton Armour is also a factor in the rotation after pitching six innings and striking out two batters in his start. Other contributors like Gavin Zoeller and Merrick Graham have also maintained clean sheets in their relief appearances to help stabilize the pitching staff.
