Softball Travels to #5 North Georgia for Tuesday Doubleheader

DAHLONEGA, GA -  Lincoln Memorial softball heads south on Tuesday, March 3 for a challenging road doubleheader at #5 University of North Georgia. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be carried on the Peach Belt Sports Network, and live stats and ticket links are available on the LMU website.

The Railsplitters enter the midweek matchup at 7-11 after an encouraging weekend at Abe's Invitational where the offense continued to trend upward. Through 18 games, LMU is batting .295 as a team with 143 hits and 30 doubles, while also drawing 53 walks and swiping 37 bases. Reese Vivrette has been a steady catalyst, hitting .393 with 24 hits and 16 runs scored, and Hanna Bogoski is matching that pace at .393 while leading the team with six stolen bases and seven RBI. Jordann Reagan has provided extra-base punch with five doubles, a triple, and a home run, and Gracie Palmer has driven in a team-high 10 RBI to anchor key spots in the lineup.

In the circle, LMU has leaned on a four-arm staff that has piled up 69 strikeouts over 116.1 innings. Brooke Strickland leads the way in workload with 35.0 innings and 29 strikeouts, while Katie Fultz has matched that strikeout pace with 21 and has been in the middle of several complete-game efforts. Aslynn Lupton has also given LMU quality innings in relief, allowing four earned runs across 15.1 innings.

North Georgia comes in rolling at 15-2 with one of the most productive offenses in Division II early in the season, hitting .345 as a team with 44 doubles and 19 home runs. The Nighthawks have a deep lineup featuring multiple hitters batting above .390, including Kayla Berry (.488) and Sydnee Reaves (.446), while the pitching staff has posted a 2.88 team ERA and held opponents to a .226 average. Chloe Poss has been a key arm for UNG with 45 strikeouts in 54.1 innings and a 2.06 ERA.

Tuesday's doubleheader continues a series that has seen UNG hold the edge historically, with Lincoln Memorial looking to flip the script and build off its recent offensive momentum against a top-five opponent. Live coverage and stats links are available on the LMU athletics website.
