Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial baseball team is set to host a pivotal three-game South Atlantic Conference weekend series against Tusculum University at the Lamar Hennon Field. While the series opener was originally scheduled for Friday evening, persistent rain in the Harrogate area has forced a schedule adjustment, moving the first game to Sunday afternoon. As a result, the weekend action will now officially begin with Saturday's scheduled doubleheader, which remains intact and will serve as the starting point for this high-stakes conference showdown between the Railsplitters and the Pioneers.
Lincoln Memorial enters the series with a potent offensive lineup led by several standout performers who have maintained impressive statistical marks through the first 30 games of the season. Gabe Gray has been a cornerstone for the Railsplitters, carrying a .380 batting average and a .914 OPS while leading the team with 11 stolen bases on 13 attempts. Joining him at the top of the statistical leaderboard is Caleb Jordan, who boasts a .368 average and an exceptional 1.012 OPS, complemented by 26 runs batted in and nine stolen bases. Brady Morse has provided significant power and situational hitting, recording a .348 average with 34 runs batted in and a team-best 10 doubles. Peyton Mullannix also remains a major threat on the basepaths and at the plate, hitting .324 and matching Gray with 11 stolen bases
The Railsplitters' depth is further evidenced by the contributions of Nick Kaelin, who has made the most of his opportunities with a team-high .400 batting average and a staggering 1.161 OPS across 16 games. Other key contributors include Josh Marmo, who holds a .304 average and a .609 slugging percentage, and Alex Kowalski, who has provided a steady presence with a .284 average and 23 runs batted in. Ayden Jackson has also shown flashes of excellence in limited action, hitting .333. This balanced attack has allowed Lincoln Memorial to maintain a team batting average of .299 and an on-base percentage of .402, making them a formidable opponent for the Tusculum pitching staff.
On the mound, the Railsplitters will rely on a pitching staff that has combined for a 4.91 earned run average and 246 strikeouts over 255 innings. Bradric Helton has been a reliable arm for the staff, posting a 2.92 ERA and a 5-1 record while striking out 25 batters in 24.2 innings. Lucas Smith has also been a key winner for the program, earning three victories with a 2.74 ERA and 22 strikeouts. Payton Armour and Adrian Smith have shouldered much of the starting load, with Armour recording 31 strikeouts in 45 innings and Smith adding 27 strikeouts in 37.1 innings of work. Additionally, Eli Edds has contributed 36 strikeouts in 29.1 innings, providing the Railsplitters with a strikeout threat whenever he enters the game.
