Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse returns home as they will face the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.
The weekend meeting will only be the fifth time that the two teams will face each other, with Lincoln Memorial falling in the series 1-3. The only victory against the Chargers came in February of 2017 in Harrogate, where LMU defeated UAH 10-8.
Currently,
Gavin Reid is the team-leader in points with 34 for team-high 27 goals and seven assists, and
Jenson Jones is leading in assists with 11.
Brixten McKenzie is leading in ground balls with 39 and face off win percentage with 56%, and
Connor Blondin is the team-leader in caused turnovers with ten. Goalkeeper
Jayden Herman is leading the team in saves with 64.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Reid is third in goals per game (3), and Herman is third in save percentage (49%).
Nationally, Reid is 12th in goals per game.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial is fourth in the SAC in caused turnovers per game (10), fifth in face-off win percentage (52%), fourth in total ground balls (303), fifth in ground balls per game (33.67), fifth opponent clear percentage (82%), and fifth in scoring margin (1.56).
Nationally, LMU is 28th in ground balls per game, 20th in man-up offense, and 23rd in scoring offense.
Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 5-21 loss against #12 Lenoir-Rhyne, and UAH is coming off of a 5-14 loss against Flagler, with both teams playing on March 21st.
LMU is going into Saturday with a 5-4 overall record and a 2-3 SAC record, and the Railsplitters are tied for fourth in the conference standings with Coker.
The Chargers are entering the match with the 3-9 overall record and 0-1 PBC record. Alabama-Huntsville is tied for third place in the Peach Belt Conference standings with Virgina State.
