Men's Lacrosse Faces Newberry At Home For Senior Day

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse will face Newberry at home on Saturday for the last regular season match at home at 3 pm. Saturday is also Senior Day for LMU men's lacrosse, where seven seniors will be honored: Gavin Reid, Dakota Ayres, Connor Blondin, Tim Carlson, Jayden Herman, Windle Oakley, and Jenson Jones

The weekend meeting will be eighth time that the Railsplitters and the Wolves will face each other, with LMU falling in the series 1-7. In the most recent match up between the two teams, which was last season in April of 2025, Lincoln Memorial fell to Newberry 10-18. The only victory that the Railsplitters have over the  Wolves came in April of 2018 with a 4-12 win. 
 
Currently, Jenson Jones leads the team in points with 45, as he has team-highs 31 goals and 14 assists. Brixten McKenzie is leading in ground balls with 52 and face off win percentage with 55.2%, and Mark Alarcon is the team-leader in caused turnovers with 14. Goalkeeper Jayden Herman is leading the team in saves with 70. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Jones is eighth in goals per game  (2.58), McKenzie is eighth in ground balls per game (4.33) and sixth in face off win percentage (55.2), and Jones is third in shot percentage (50.8%). Alex Wegrzyn is fifth in individual man up goals (4).

Nationally, Jones is 9th in shot percentage.
 
As a team, Lincoln Memorial is fifth in scoring defense (11.50).
 
Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 3-19 loss against Anderson, and Newberry is coming off of a 12-16 loss against Wingate , with both teams playing on April 4th.

Leaders for the Wolves include Liam Vollans (#51), who leads in goals with 38, Ryan Morrison (#7), who leads in caused turnovers with 29, and Horton Houston (#32) who leads in ground balls with 71. 

LMU is going into Saturday with a 7-5 overall record and a 2-4 SAC record, and the Railsplitters in sixth in the conference standings.

The Wolves are entering the match with the 9-4 overall record and 5-2 SAC record, and Newberry is tied for second in the conference standings with Anderson and Lenoir-Rhyne. Newberry was most recently ranked #13 in the United States Intercollegaite Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll. 
 
The match is set to start at 3 pm at LMU Lacrosse Complex.
