Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University women's tennis team will play their final match of the regular season on Saturday, traveling to play No. 22 Lenoir-Rhyne at 1:30 p.m. in a conference road matchup.
The Railsplitters earned consecutive wins on Thursday, taking down Carson-Newman 4-2 in Jefferson City to improve to 11-10 this year and 6-4 in the South Atlantic Conference. With their win, the Splitters enter Saturday ranked sixth in the conference standings, holding a one-game advantage over UVA Wise and Carson-Newman.
Alexandra Ortiz enters Saturday holding the most wins in singles play, having gone 7-7 this season while Adriana Pellizzari, Rosalie Carrier-Dulac, and Natalia Reimer have all earned six wins to slot second on the team. In conference play, Carrier-Dulac has been head of the class with a team-best 5-0 record.
On the doubles court, the duo of Pellizzari and Reimer enter with nine team wins, having gone 5-2 in conference matchups, leading the Splitters in both marks.
Lenoir-Rhyne welcomes the Railsplitters with just two losses on the season, having gone 12-2 and 9-1 in conference games to sit just half a game out of first place before beginning the conference tournament. The top eight teams in the SAC will head to Sumter, South Carolina for the conference championships next Thursday.
