Gabe Gray and Ronny Matti named Third Team All-SAC

Rock Hill, SC — The South Atlantic Conference announced its annual baseball postseason honors on Thursday afternoon, recognizing two standout members of the Lincoln Memorial lineup. Shortstop Gabe Gray and catcher Ronny Matti were both selected to the All-SAC Third Team following their impressive performances throughout the regular season. These honors highlight a consistent offensive and defensive presence for the Railsplitters as they navigate the competitive conference landscape.

Gabe Gray earned his spot on the all-conference list after starting all forty-nine games for the Railsplitters this season. Gray anchored the top of the order with a team-leading .369 batting average and a .953 OPS. Over the course of 198 at-bats, he recorded seventy-three hits, including eleven doubles, three triples, and three home runs. The versatile infielder also proved to be a major run producer and threat on the basepaths, tallying forty runs batted in and crossing the plate fifty-one times himself. Gray finished the year with a .500 slugging percentage and was successful on fifteen of his seventeen stolen base attempts. Defensively, Gray handled 214 total chances at shortstop, recording sixty-two putouts and 138 assists while contributing to twenty-one double plays.

Ronny Matti joined his teammate on the Third Team after a productive campaign behind the plate. Matti appeared in twenty-seven games, making twenty-six starts, and posted a robust .346 batting average. His offensive contributions included thirty-six hits, eight doubles, and two triples, resulting in thirteen runs batted in and sixteen runs scored. Matti maintained a .462 slugging percentage and a .410 on-base percentage, providing a steady bat in the middle of the Lincoln Memorial lineup. On the defensive end, Matti was a reliable force for the pitching staff, logging 170 putouts and seventeen assists. He finished the season with a .974 fielding percentage and successfully caught thirteen runners attempting to steal.
