Harrogate, TN – After ending the home season in style with a much-needed win on Tuesday, the Lincoln Memorial women's tennis team heads down to Jefferson City on Thursday, squaring off against Carson-Newman on the road.
The Railsplitters had to fight to defeat UVA Wise in their last match, taking a close 4-2 victory in the final home game of the season, boosting their record to 10-10 and 5-4 in South Atlantic Conference competition.
Alexandra Ortiz has led the way for LMU in individual play this season, holding a team-high seven wins including three in conference play while Adriana Pellizzari, Rosalie Carrier-Dulac, and Natalia Reimer have all earned six wins of their own to slot just behind Ortiz.
Doubles play has seen the team of Pellizzari and Reimer tear through the conference, as the two have gone 5-2 against conference foes and are 9-7 on the season overall.
Carson-Newman welcomes the Railsplitters with a record of 9-9, having also started 5-4 in conference play with a 5-0 win over Mars Hill on Tuesday on their minds.
