Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial University junior Lucie Palud has been named the First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week following a standout season on the court and in the classroom. A native of Douarnenez, France, Palud has maintained a 3.888 grade point average while pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Her academic excellence has been recognized consistently throughout her tenure at LMU, as she has earned a spot on the Dean's List every semester. Her recent accolades include being named an A.B.E. Scholar for both the fall and spring semesters, as well as receiving the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award for the 2024-25 season. Later this month, she will add to these honors when she is inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society.
Palud has also been a key contributor for the Railsplitters on the tennis court, earning 2025 South Atlantic Conference All-Conference honors and a spot on the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. During the current campaign, she was recognized as a Third-Team All-SAC selection in doubles. On the year, Palud appeared in eight singles matches and secured four victories, including an undefeated record in both conference play and at the number one singles position. She was a fixture in the doubles lineup, competing in 23 matches and posting a 14-9 record. Playing primarily at the number one doubles slot, she earned six conference wins and a notable victory over Southeast Missouri State.
Throughout her collegiate career, Palud has shown steady growth and versatility. As a freshman, she appeared in three singles matches and 19 doubles matches, earning nine doubles wins with three of those coming against conference opponents while playing primarily out of the number three position. Beyond her athletic and academic commitments, Palud is an active contributor to the athletic department. She frequently assists her fellow student-athletes by taking photos from the sidelines at various LMU sporting events, capturing the action for all Railsplitter teams while balancing a busy schedule during her junior year.
