Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial University athletics has named men's soccer freshman forward Lasse Kidde Amstrup and women's cross country junior runner Greta Chizzali as the Juice Spot Co-Railsplitters of the Week following outstanding individual performances.
Chizzali led the Railsplitters to a strong season opener, dominating the women's 4k race to finish eighth out of 49 total entries in a time of 14:26.0. The top-ten finish was the first of her collegiate career and set a new personal record at the 4k distance, placing her just behind competitors from NCAA Division I programs Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga. Her performance propelled the Railsplitters to a podium finish, seeing Lincoln Memorial take third place overall in the team standings.
On the pitch, Amstrup delivered a stellar performance to lead the men's soccer team past conference foe Wingate. The freshman forward scored two goals during the match, striking first in the 46th minute to set the tone before netting the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute to secure the victory for Lincoln Memorial.
