Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball guard Federica Lagana has been named the First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, recognizing her excellence in academics, service, leadership, and commitment to the Railsplitters women's basketball program.

Lagana has consistently demonstrated a strong dedication to academic and campus involvement during her time at LMU. She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee from 2024-25, helping represent her fellow student-athletes and support initiatives across the department. She is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national honor society for collegiate student-athletes who excel academically. Beyond campus, Lagana has volunteered with Rojo, worked at a summer camp teaching basketball to children, and played an active role in raising awareness for Morgan's Message, supporting mental health advocacy within athletics.

Despite being sidelined this semester due to injury, Lagana has remained an enthusiastic and vocal supporter of her teammates, continuing to contribute to the program through leadership and encouragement from the bench.

On the court, Lagana has been a valuable contributor for the Railsplitters during her career at Lincoln Memorial. During the 2024-25 season, she appeared in 24 games and made five starts, logging 236 total minutes. She recorded 16 points while adding 32 total rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass, and dished out 36 assists. Lagana also contributed defensively with 14 steals and consistently impacted the game through ball movement and hustle plays. Her versatility and willingness to fill multiple roles have helped provide depth and energy to the Railsplitters lineup. Lagana has made the most of her opportunities during the 2025–26 season. She appeared in three games, logging 42 total minutes and averaging 14.0 minutes per contest. Lagana was highly efficient offensively, shooting 80.0 percent from the field and a perfect 100 percent from three-point range. She totaled 10 points while adding 10 rebounds, including three offensive boards, for an average of 3.3 rebounds per game. Lagana also contributed across the stat sheet with four assists and four steals, showcasing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor despite limited action before her injury.
