HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Two teams coming off of signature wins will collide on Monday evening as the Lady Railsplitters (13-12, 10-9 SAC) pay a visit to the Brevard Tornados (8-15, 6-13 SAC) in a makeup of last Wednesday's snow out. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. at Boshamer Gymnasium on the campus of Brevard College.

Lincoln Memorial halted a three-game losing skid and picked up some much needed momentum heading into the final week of the regular season with a 63-60 win over the first-place Wingate Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Railsplitters trailed 56-46 with 6:38 to play, but closed the game on a 17-3 spurt to hand the Bulldogs only their second loss since December 18. Wingate mustered a mere 33.9 percent shooting in the contest.

Senior
Katrina Ottesen (Chandler, Ariz.) chalked up a career-high 20 points, going 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-8 from long distance while playing all but one minute. Junior
Megan Pittman (Liberty, Ky.) pitched in 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to back Ottesen's outstanding effort as the Lady Railsplitters topped Wingate for the third time in the past two seasons.
Â
Brevard, meanwhile, won for the fifth time in the past seven appearances on Saturday, moving to the cusp of contention for a spot in the South Atlantic Conference Championship field with an 80-75 victory over the fourth-place Catawba Indians, who had won six of seven coming into that match-up. The Tornados shot 48.4 percent and drained 10 three-pointers to reach the 80-point threshold for the fourth time in the last seven games. Katie Williams (19), Madison Lenox (18) and Hadara Bannister (17) combined for 54 of the team's 80 points.
Â
The top eight teams in the final league standings qualify for a spot in the SAC Championship field. With that win, Brevard moved into a tie for ninth place, just one game back of Mars Hill for the eighth spot.
Â
The first meeting between Lincoln Memorial and Brevard on January 28 at Tex Turner Arena was one of, if not the most tightly contested game of the season. In a match-up that featured 12 ties and 11 lead changes and never saw either team establish a lead larger than six points, the Lady Railsplitters prevailed 70-65. The two teams finished with nearly identical shooting percentages (LMU 36.4, Brevard 36.1), but the Lady Railsplitters collected a 49-31 advantage on the glass and knocked down 10 triples. Lincoln Memorial's bench outscored the Tornados second unit 31-10.
Â
Ross Mathis (Greer, S.C.) was a huge part of that disparity as the freshman guard poured in a career-high 17 points, including a three-point dagger in the waning seconds, in 27 minutes off the bench.
Shea Coker (Knoxville, Tenn.) chipped in 15 points, while
Britney Guy (Locust Grove, Ga.) and
Sydnie Anderson (Cleveland, Tenn.) reset their career-highs with 14 and 10 points apiece respectively.
Â
Williams and Lenox led the Tornados in that contest with 19 points apiece. That duo has set the tone for Brevard offensively all season as Williams (16.4) and Lenox (15.8) rank fourth and fifth in the South Atlantic Conference in points per game.
Â
Something's got to give on Monday as the Lady Railsplitters have defeated the Tornados four consecutive times but dropped eight straight road games, the longest such streak since the 2010-11 squad also lost eight in a row on the road. Coincidentally, that year's team ended its road losing skid in a 69-66 win at Brevard. The Lady Railsplitters are 15-2 in the all-time series against Brevard.

Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. Monday inside of Boshamer Gymasium. Live stats will be available via www.LMURailsplitters.com.
