Notes on the Railsplitters:

-Lincoln Memorial scored goals in the fourth, 73rd and 83rd minutes to power a convincing 3-0 win over the Anderson Trojans on Saturday at the LMU Soccer Complex. Andres Pratto (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Felipe de Sousa (Sao Bernardo do Campo, Brazil) and Victor Peres (Brasilia, Brazil) did the damage for the Railsplitters, who erupted for at least three goals in a match for the fourth time this season and the third time in their last five appearances on the pitch.

-That win over the Trojans locked the Railsplitters into sole possession of fifth place in the SAC standings with two matches remaining in the regular season. The top eight teams in the final standings earn bids to the SAC Championship, while the top four hosts their respective quarterfinal round match. The Railsplitters trail fourth-place Catawba by three points, but LMU plays the Indians in the regular-season finale on October 28.

-Peres scored off of a magnificent free kick from more than 25 yards out in the Railsplitters' win over Anderson, extending his streak of consecutive games with a goal to four dating back to October 10th's win at Newberry. Peres, a sophomore striker from Brazil, has tallied six goals and four assists this season, ranking 10th in the SAC in goals and 12th in points.

-The Railsplitters are 6-1 at the LMU Soccer Complex this season, but just 2-3 on the road. Lincoln Memorial suffered a 3-2 loss at Mars Hill in its last road trip on October 19. At home, the Railsplitters have averaged 2.43 goals per game with a stingy 0.71 goals against average. However, on the road LMU is scoring just 1.60 goals per with a 1.78 goals against mark.

-Junior Danilo da Silva (Campinas, Brazil) has a point in four of his last five appearances, including an assist in LMU's 3-0 win over Anderson. Silva has accounted for six goals and six assists this season, ranking eighth in the league in points, sixth in assists and third in total shot attempts with 69.

-The Railsplitters will look to replicate last season's SAC finish, when they went 7-3-1 in league play to earn sole possession of third place.

Notes on the Eagles:

-Carson-Newman enters Tuesday's match having lost four of its last five matches, but all four of those losses were decided by a single goal, including overtime setbacks against No. 1 nationally-ranked Wingate and Brevard. Sandwiched between those two losses, the Eagles notched a 2-1 double-overtime victory against Tusculum on October 19 to hand the Pioneers their first loss of the season. Carson-Newman's last three matches have required overtime.

-The Eagles need a win on Tuesday to have a good chance of making the SAC tournament. Carson-Newman is currently on the outside looking in a tie for ninth place with nine points. Queens is currently in eighth place with 10 points.

-Carson-Newman is a solid offensive unit that has piled up 2.00 goals and 16.8 shots per game. The Eagles lead the SAC with 114 shots on goals, as 45.2 percent of their total shot attempts have landed on frame. Carson-Newman is also in the middle of the pack defensively, allowing 1.35 goals per match.

-Junior Tom Read and senior Marius Staalby have accounted for 39 of Carson-Newman's 78 points this season. Read has piled up five goals and a SAC-leading 12 assists on 79 shots and 33 shots on goal, while Staalby has seven goals, three assists and 32 shots. Sophomore Thibault Mathorez has produced three goals, while four other Eagles have chipped in two goals this season.

-Freshman goalkeeper Joe Boyd has played 1,337 of a possible 1400 minutes for the Eagles this season. Over that span, he has put up a 1.35 goals against average, 69 saves and a .775 save percentage, ranking second in the SAC in saves and fourth in save percentage.

-Carson-Newman is 4-3 at home this season, most recently knocking off No. 7 nationally-ranked Tusculum at McCown Field.

Series History:

-The Railsplitters own a 16-12-3 all-time record against Carson-Newman. Lincoln Memorial has won four of the last seven meetings outright, but hasn't defeated the Eagles in Jefferson City since notching a 3-0 win there in 2011.

-The Eagles defeated the Railsplitters 2-1 in last season's match at the LMU Soccer Complex. Tom Read tallied the game-winner in that contest in the 44th minute.

-LMU and Carson-Newman played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw the last time the two teams met at McCown Field in 2014.
