HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU women's basketball team opens up South Atlantic Conference play Tuesday evening as they make the short trip to Jefferson City to face arch-rival Carson-Newman. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Holt Fieldhouse.
LMU comes into the game with a 4-0 record after a 90-71 win over King Saturday afternoon. The win moves LMU to 4-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season.
Against King, LMU never trailed as they had five players score in double figures, led by
Megan Pittman (Liberty, Ky.) and
Karsen Sims (Gatlinburg, Tenn.) with 15 points apiece.
Shea Coker (Knoxville, Tenn.) added in 14 points while
Sydney Duggins (Oliver Springs, Tenn.) scored 12 and
Ross Mathis (Greer, S.C.) chipped in 11 points.
Josey Harding (Middletown, Ohio) had the third-best rebounding performance in school history as she pulled down 21 rebounds.

LINCOLN MEMORIAL VS. C-N
· Although this is the first meeting this season, the two schools both participated in the SAC vs. Peach Belt Conference Challenge so they have seen each other play.
· LMU was picked 5th in the pre-season coaches poll and C-N was picked fourth.
· The SAC is one of the few conferences to have conference games before January, mainly due to the large number of teams and no divisional play.
· C-N comes into the game having six days off after thrashing King 107-71. They are now 2-1 on the season.
· After this game the team will take some time off for the Thanksgiving break before hosting Lees-McRae in their final non-conference game of the year on Saturday.
SCOUTING LMU
· The Lady Railsplitters come into Tuesday with a 4-0 record, their first 4-0 start since the 1991-92 season. The 1991-92 squad started off 7-0.
· Should they win, LMU would improve to 5-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season and only the second time since the 1940-41 season (and 7th time overall). The 1991-92 team's fifth win of that season? 67-63 over Carson-Newman.
· LMU enters the game with a program record of 824-480-1 in 75 seasons of competition.
· The win over #21 Lander was LMU's first win over a ranked opponent since they upset #20 Carson-Newman 56-54 last season.

Megan Pittman is currently leading the team in scoring with 11.5 ppg.

Josey Harding's currently leads the team in rebounding (7.5 rpg). She currently ranks third in the SAC in offensive rebounds and total rebounds and is second in defensive rebounds.

Sydney Duggins is making her presence known as she is averaging 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds a game, which places her second on the team in scoring and third in rebounding.
· LMU is outshooting their opponents 41.1 percent to 32.0 percent this season.
· The Lady Railsplitters under
Krystal Evans have become nationally known for their rebounding, and this year's team currently is out-rebounding opponents by 8.8 rebounds a game. In the
Krystal Evans era, LMU has outrebounded their opponents in 52 of the 62 games played.
RECORD WATCH
· Megan Pittman has the most career points on the team with 681. Harding has 516, Coker 425, Anderson 230 and Mathis 195.
· Pittman has 562 career rebounds, placing her at 10th all-time, she is 18 away from tying Terry Whitehead (1984-86)
· Harding's 21 rebounds against King on Saturday were the third most in a single game in LMU history behind Robin Cox (25) and Lori Neely (22). She is also only the third LMU player to get more than 20 rebounds in a game.
· Harding is currently tied for 12th in career rebounds with Andi Winney (2006-9). They are 17 behind 11th place Debbie Green (1988-91).
· Harding is tied for 24th all-time in made free throws (182) with Pam Walters (1889-93). 22nd place is also a tie between Brandy Brown (1994-98) and Heather Brown (1993-97) with 190 each (No relation).
· Josey Harding is currently in fifth place on the all-time blocks list with 93. She has a tall order to get out of fifth as there is a tie for third with 140 blocks between Tracey Faison (1988-92) and Bridget Long (1990-94).
LAST TIME VS. C-N
· Carson-Newman used a third-quarter run to pull out to a 10 point lead and held off all LMU comeback attempts as C-N won 79-72 in Holt Fieldhouse on Jan. 27, 2016
· Although it was a close contest for 2.5 quarters, the lead only changed hands four times.

· Kailyn Brooks led C-N with 23 points and Taylor Peterson added in 16.
· The teams tied in rebounds with 37 each, one of only two times in the Evans era that LMU has tied in rebounding.
· LMU dominated the paint by a 42-26 margin and had 13 second-chance points to C-N's 8. The LMU bench also outscored the Lady Eagles 37-22. The difference? C-N went 11-26 from three-point range to LMU's 4-11. Free throws also favored C-N 12-16 (C-N) to 4-11 (LMU).
SERIES VS. C-N
· According to records, this is the 90th meeting in the series, dating back to the 1927 season.
· C-N leads the series 48-41 overall thanks to a 21-0 win streak from 1974-87.
· LMU leads the series 25-19 in Harrogate. (15-7 in the Tex Turner Arena). C-N leads 29-16 in Jefferson City.
· According to LMU records, the two teams played 10 times in the 1920s and 1930s before C-N dropped women's sports due to the WDNAAF decisions on women's sports.
· This rivalry is one of the oldest in the state, if not the country. The two team have played every year since 1979 except for 1998-2000 when then C-N decided not to play.
SCOUTING C-N
· The Lady Eagles return eight letterwinners off of last year's team, including three starters. They have five newcomers, including two freshman.
· Kailyn Brooks is the top returning scorer from last season and Kaitlyn Cupples is the top rebounder returning.
· Brooks leads the team in scoring with 19.3 points a game, Mika Webster has 14.0 ppg and Harris Price is averaging 10.7 ppg.
· Webster is the leading rebounder and is averaging 7.0 rebounds a game.
· 27 of C-N's 86 field goals this season have been three-pointers.
· C-N Coach Mike Mincey enters the contest with a 87-59 career record, all at Carson-Newman. He is in his 6th season.
· Carson-Newman compiled an 18-11 record last season, losing at Newberry in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals.
· C-N split in the opening weekend in the SAC vs. Peach Belt Conference Challenge. They outlasted USC Aiken 84-78 before losing by 15 (68-53) to 21st-ranked Lander.
