NEWBERRY, S.C. -- The Lady Railsplitter tennis team (4-3, 0-2 SAC) fell to 0-2 in South Atlantic Conference play as they lost a close match at Newberry (11-1, 6-0 SAC) Saturday afternoon.
Newberry took all three doubles flights, winning the first two by 8-3 margins. No. 3 doubles saw LMU's
Priscilla Bulandres and
Rosa Smith go to the wire with Newberry's Kelly McManus and Paula Avellan before falling 9-7.
In singles play, LMU picked up wins at No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles. At No. 2,
Marta Pinol defeated Vanessa Ortiz 7-5, 6-4. Bulandres won over Tara Lamers 1-6, 7-6, 10-7 at No. 4 while
Roksolana Prudyvus bested Rebeca Martinez 6-3, 6-3.
Angelica Solano won over Newberry's McManus 8-2 at the No. 6 flight.
LMU will play another SAC match at Queens tomorrow. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
