SALISBURY, NC -- The tennis match between the Lady Railsplitters (11-4, 6-3 SAC) and Catawba (10-7, 1-5 SAC) took 24 days to finish, but in the end LMU picked up the 7-2 win over the Indians Wednesday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.

The match was started on Feb. 21 but rain halted it with the score tied at 2-2.

LMU took two of the three doubles flights. At No. 1 Elena Vasilyeva/Javiera Gonzalez won over Liz Renteria/Erisa Onchi 8-5 while at No. 2 Marta Pinol/Roksolana Prudyvus defeated Kristen Rocko/Lauren Sledd 8-3.

In singles play, LMU took five of the six flights. At No. 1 Vasilyeva won over Renteria for the third straight season, this time by a 6-3, 6-4 margin. Pinol moved to 6-2 vs. South Atlantic Conference opponents as she won over Onchi 6-3, 7-6 at No. 2. Gonzalez had an easy time at No. 3 as she cruised past Maddie Henderson 6-0, 6-2 while Bulandres improved to 9-4 on the season with a hard-fought 6-3, 0-6, 6-3 match at the No. 4 flight. Solano defeated Rachel Rudisill 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 6 flight to move to 9-5 for the season.

LMU now has some time off for Spring Break before they return to action March 31st when they host Carson-Newman at the LMU Tennis Complex.
