ATLANTA, Ga. -- The LMU beach volleyball team (1-9) opened up play in the Georgia State Diggin' Duals on Friday with a pair of hard-fought losses at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex. They fell to UNC Wilmington 5-0 in their first match of the day and later lost to eighth-ranked Georgia State 4-1.

MATCH ONE VS. UNC WILMINGTON
The Seahawks may have ended the match with 5-0 on the scoreboard, but all the flights were closely contested. At No. 1, Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) and Brooke Fleeman (Nashville, Tenn.) fell 21-16, 25-23. Jamie Jehne (Hollywood, Fla.) and Bristol Snider (Chattanooga, Tenn.) fell at No. 2 21-16, 21-19 while Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) and Erica Whiteaker (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) fell at No. 4 21-17, 21-19. At No. 4 Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) and Peyton McDaniel (Morristown, Tenn.) lost the first set 23-21 before falling in set two 21-12 while Jordan Green (Hazel Green, Ala.) and Fernanda Miaci (São José dos Campos, Brazil) fell at the No. 5 position in a tiebreaker set 22-20, 16-21, 15-12.

MATCH TWO VS. GEORGIA STATE
The eighth-ranked Panthers cruised to wins at the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 positions. Green and Miaci picked up LMU's lone win of the match as they went to a tiebreaker set for the second time on Friday, this time emerging victorious 16-21, 21-17, 16-14.
