HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The Lady Railsplitter tennis team (13-7) said goodbye to senior Elena Vasilyeva in style as they swept the University of the Cumberlands (8-9) 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.

The team honored the Yaroslavl, Russia native after the match with a short ceremony. Vasilyeva had plenty to celebrate as she picked up her 11th win of the year and 28th of her career with her 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. She also had her 11th doubles win of the year and 27th of her career as she and partner Javiera Gonzalez picked up the 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Gonzalez won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0.

Rosa Smith and Angelica Solano won at No. 2 doubles by an 8-6 margin. It was the first time the two had played together this season. Smith won at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-3 and Solano improved to 12-8 on the season with her 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5.

Marta Pinol and Roksolana Prudyvus have been the Lady Railsplitters' go-to duo at No. 3 doubles this season, and they improved to 8-4 at that position with the 8-2 win. In singles action, Pinol improved to 15-4 on the season (with ties her for ninth-most in a season) with her 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 while Prudyvus earned her 14th win of the season with her 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4

The Lady Railsplitters have already clinched a berth in next week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament. They will play as the fifth seed and face either Newberry or Queens in the opening round. The tournament starts April 21 at Brevard, North Carolina.
