HARROGATE, Tenn. -- 44th-ranked Tusculum (16-3, 8-1 SAC) proved to be too much for the Lady Railsplitters (12-7, 7-4 SAC) as the Pioneers swept LMU 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the LMU Tennis Complex.
LMU's closest match was at No. 1 doubles where
Elena Vasilyeva and
Priscilla Bulandres narrowly lost 8-6.
In singles play, Vasilyeva and
Marta Pinol each had a close first set, but both were overpowered in the second set. Vasilyeva lost 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 and Pinol lost 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2.
LMU hosts the University of the Cumberlands Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Complex.
