No. 9/11 Lady Railsplitters host Queens for Senior Day Royal Rumble

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The No. 9/11 Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team returns home after a pair of road games to host Queens in South Atlantic Conference action Saturday afternoon. LMU defeated the Royals 70-60 on Jan. 9.

LMU is currently 22-2 overall and 17-2 in SAC play coming into the game. They are currently ranked ninth in the latest D2SIDA National Media Poll and eleventh in the WBCA/USA Today NCAA Division II Coaches Poll.

Currently, LMU sits atop the SAC standings with their 17-2 SAC record. Wingate is in second with a 16-3 record. The 17 SAC wins by LMU are a new program record for conference wins.

In their last game vs. Mars Hill, the Lady Railsplitters never trailed and broke open the game in the second half as they blasted Mars Hill 91-63. The team set a new single-game record for three-point percentage with 63.2%.

Dasia Maxwell (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way for LMU with a career high 16 points. Megan Pittman (Liberty, Ky.) had 15 points while Shea Coker (Knoxville, Tenn.) chipped in 13 points. Sydney Duggins (Oliver Springs, Tenn.) had a career high 13 points and Josey Harding (Middletown, Ohio) had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

LINCOLN MEMORIAL VS. QUEENS
· LMU won the prior meeting this season, 70-60 in Charlotte.
· In the last meeting in the Turner Arena, the Royals led for most of the first quarter before LMU grabbed the lead mid-way through the second quarter and pulled away in the second half to coast to the 80-66 win. Ross Mathis (Greer, S.C.) led LMU with 11 points while McKell Oliverio led the Royals with 17 points.
· Queens comes into the game in a three-way tie for ninth place in the SAC. They have a 4-20 overall record and a 4-15 record in SAC play. They trail eighth place Tusculum by one game.
· After this game, the Lady Railsplitters will host Anderson next Wednesday.
 
SCOUTING LMU
· Senior All-SAC performer and CoSIDA Academic All-District team member Megan Pittman leads the team in scoring with an average of 16.2 points a game. She is second on the team in rebounding with 9.8 a game. Pittman is currently shooting 82.3% from the free throw line, which ranks her third in the SAC.  She now leads the SAC in total free throws and offensive rebounds; is second in total rebounds and rebounds per game; third in defensive rebounding; fourth in points and steals, fifth in points per game;  seventh in three-point percentage; and tenth in blocks.
· Junior Shea Coker is second on the team in scoring with a 13.8 points per game average. She currently is second in the SAC in 3-pt percentage; eighth in field goal percentage and made three-pointers; tenth in points; eleventh in made field goals; and twelfth in points per game.
· Senior Josey Harding currently leads the team and the SAC in rebounding and rebounds per game with 10.5 rebounds a game (Pittman is second) and is fourth on the team in scoring with 7.6 points a game. She also currently ranks second in the SAC in defensive rebounds and offensive rebounds; and eighth in free throws. She is also 15th in free throw percentage. She set a new SAC single-game rebound record with her 27 at Carson-Newman and with her 23 rebounds at Anderson she became the first LMU player, men or women, to have three 20+ rebound games.
· Karsen Sims (Gatlinburg, Tenn.) is third on the team in scoring with 8.2 points a game. She currently is fourth in the SAC in 3-pt. percentage and assist to turnover ratio and is 12th in assists.
· As a team, LMU ranks first in the SAC in 3-pt. percentage, all free throw categories, offensive rebounds per game and total rebounds per game. They rank second in made three-pointers, rebound margin per game, opponents' three-point percentage, FGs made, FG attempts, points and points per game. They are third in defensive rebounds.
· LMU is outshooting their opponents 41.3 percent to 38.0 percent this season. They are outscoring their opponents by a 14.2 points per game margin.
· The Lady Railsplitters are currently out-rebounding opponents by 10.3 rebounds a game. In the Krystal Evans era, LMU has outrebounded their opponents in 70 of the 82 games played.
· LMU enters the game with a program record of 842-482-1 in 75 seasons of competition.
 
LMU IN THE RANKINGS
· The Lady Railsplitters are ranked eleventh in the latest WBCA/USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll.              
· The team is ranked ninth in the D2SIDA National Media Poll.
· The fourth-place ranking earlier this season was the highest any SAC team has been ranked in the media poll, which was started in 2014 and ties the highest ranking by a SAC team in conference history. The other team? Former SAC member Presbyterian, who was ranked fourth in the coaches' poll for two weeks in February, 2000.
· The fifth-place coaches' poll ranking earlier this season ties the highest ranking by a current SAC team in the coaches' poll with Tusculum, who were ranked fifth the week of Jan. 13, 3009.
· LMU is ranked second in the Southeast Region in both the latest NCAA Regional Rankings and the D2SIDA Media Poll.
 
RECORD WATCH
· POINTS - Megan Pittman currently has 1024 career points, moving her up to 18th place in the all-time standings. She became the 18th member of the LMU 1,000 point club at Newberry on Feb. 11. She trails #17 Nickie Snow (1984-88) by three points. Coker has 716, Harding has 674, Anderson 356, Mathis 267 and Sims 258.
· REBOUNDS - Pittman has 767 career rebounds, and now is in third place in the LMU record book. She is 92 rebounds behind second-place Lori Neely (1985-89).
· Harding currently has 731 rebounds and ranks fifth in career rebounds. She is two behind #4 Robin Cox (1992-96) and trails Pittman by 36. She has become the sixth player in school history to have 700 rebounds and by moving into fifth place there are now two of the top five rebounders in program history on the same team.
· FIELD GOALS – Pittman has moved into 21st place on the made field goals list with 374. She is one behind #20 Brandy Brown (1994-98) and 10 behind #19 Andi Winney (2006-09). She is also now tied for 21st on the attempts list with 782 with Heather Benton (2004-08) and is 31 behind Sis Lawhead (1980-82). Pittman is also 15th in field goal percentage with a 47.8% career mark.
· THREE-POINTERS - Coker is 11th in made treys with 83 and trails former teammate #10 Katrina Ottesen (2013-15) by six. Coker is also 17th on the three-point attempts list with 191, and first on the 3-pt percentage list with a .435 percentage. Mathis is 17th in made treys with 66 and trails #16 Mollie Cooper (1994-97) by two. She is 16th on the attempts list with 198.
· FREE THROWS – Pittman is now tied for 14th all-time in made free throws with Carrie Shoffner (1985-89) with 243. She is in 18th place in free throw attempts with 297, which translates to third place in career free throw percentage (81.8%).
· Harding is 15th all-time in made free throws (240) and is three behind Pittman. She is 10th in free throw attempts (347).
· BLOCKS - Harding is currently in fifth place on the all-time blocks list with 103. She is the fifth player in LMU history to have 100 or more blocks.
· Pittman is also on the blocks list, where she is 16th with 47 blocks. Pittman is three behind 15th place Pam Walters (1989-93).
 
LAST TIME VS. QUEENS
· The teams met in Queens on Jan. 9. LMU improved to 13-0 on the season with the 70-60 win over a very stubborn Queens team. There were eight ties and six lead changes, but it all came down to the fourth quarter. Four LMU free throws early in the fourth quarter would give them an eight point cushion, only for the Royals to go on an 8-0 run and tie the game at 54-54 with 6:12 left. Queens would eventually take the 58-56 lead with 3:55 remaining. A Coker three-pointer then sparked an 8-2 run to give LMU the lead for good. The Lady Railsplitters would hit their free throws down the stretch to earn the 70-60 win.
· In that meeting Shea Coker led LMU with 24 points. She went 8-10 from the field, 4-5 from three-point range and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. Megan Pittman notched her fifth double-double of the season as she had 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Ross Mathis added in 14 points, including 4 three-pointers.
 
SERIES VS. QUEENS
· LMU leads the series 10-3.
· LMU holds a 6-0 record vs. Queens in Harrogate and a 4-3 record in Charlotte.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS
· Queens comes into Saturday's game with a 4-20 overall record and 4-14 SAC record. They have lost their last nine games.
· McKell Oliverio leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game. Mendy McNeese is scoring 9.6 points a game and Sara Henson 9.5.
· Cheyenne Logan leads the team in rebounding with 5.7 per game, followed by Maggie Stewart with 4.9.
