ATLANTA, Ga. – The LMU beach volleyball team broke out the brooms Sunday as they swept their final two matches at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals.

In their first match of the day, the Lady Railsplitters blanked Jacksonville State 5-0, with two of the flights going to three sets. Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) and Jamie Jehne (Hollywood, Fla.) won at No. 1 in three sets 13-21, 21-18, 15-9 while at No. 2 Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) and Danielle Ged (Smyrna, Tenn.) also prevailed in a hard-fought three set thriller 18-21, 21-13, 18-16. Brooke Fleeman (Nashville, Tenn.) and Bristol Snider (Chattanooga, Tenn.) won 21-18, 21-18 at No. 3 and Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) and Lindsey Nartker (New Carlisle, Ohio) picked up the 21-13, 21-15 win at No. 4. At the No. 5 flight Erica Whiteaker (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) and Beka Wachob (Milton, Fla.) cruised to the 21-13, 21-3 win. In the extra match, Tone Gill (Nashville, Tenn.) and Peyton McDaniel (Morristown, Tenn.) narrowly won in three sets 17-21, 25-23, 15-12.

LMU picked up their second win of the day with the 4-1 win over Austin Peay. Statistics are incomplete at this time, with the full results of the No. 2 and No. 3 flights not available. At No. 1, Abby Cash and Jehne won handily 21-15, 21-18. The match at the No. 2 flight featuring Sam Cash and Ged was forfeited by APSU in the third set due to an injury. Austin Peay picked up their lone win at No. 3 while at No. 4 Holland and Nartker earned the 21-13, 21-15 victory. Whiteaker made history in her match at No. 5 with Wachob as she became LMU's all-time leader in wins with the 21-16, 21-11 win. She now has won 12 matches in her beach volleyball career, winning seven matches last season with Sam Cash and five matches thus far this season with Wachob. In the extra match, Kayla Kidney (Chandler, Ariz.) and Kaylee Stone (Chattanooga, Tenn.) fell in three sets 21-11, 16-21, 15-4.

Next up for LMU is a visit to Carson-Newman for a high noon matchup next Saturday.
