HARROGATE, Tenn. — Ritchie Richardson's second Lincoln Memorial University recruiting class is shaping up nicely.

Recently, the LMU head softball coach announced the signings of three 2019 players: Emma Frost, Madison Henry and Laken Phillips.

Frost is a pitcher/utility player from Morristown East High School, who's list of accolades do the talking. In both 2017 and 2018, Frost was named first-team IMAC All-Conference, IMAC Pitcher of the Year, first-team All-District, along with All-District Tournament, Citizen Tribune All-Lakeway Area Softball Player of the Year and All-Prep Extra Team.

In 2018, she led the Lady Hurricanes to a 32-7 record behind her 21-6 record and 2.04 ERA in the circle. Frost also tossed 228 strikeouts in 141 innings pitched with 10 shutouts. At the plate, she sported a .395 batting average complemented with 10 home runs and 45 RBIS.

The year before, she guided Morristown East to a 35-6 record as she had a 27-4 record and 1.03 ERA in the circle. Frost retired 296 batters in 176 innings while using a .473 batting average, nine home runs and 50 RBIS to lead the Lady Hurricanes offensively, as well.

"Emma is one of the top hurlers and hitters in the state," Richardson said.  "She will be a great addition to a young pitching staff."

The next new face will be Henry in the outfield. The William Blount High School product is the younger sister of current freshman catcher McKenzie Henry. The Henry sister duo powered the Lady Governors to a 35-8 record in 2018 and a third-place finish in the Class AAA TSSAA State Tournament, where they took down to-be teammate Frost and the Lady Hurricanes for a place at state.

The younger Henry, Madison, brings her stellar defensive efforts to LMU behind a .520 batting average, .601 on-base percentage, 66 hits, 62 runs scored, 12 doubles, three triples and a home run from a head-turning 2018 campaign. Henry's efforts made her first-team All-Conference, All-District, All-District Tournament and TSWA All-State.

"Madison is a super athlete and does everything on the diamond well," Richardson said.  "She's a great all-around player."

Last but not least, is the speedy outfielder Phillips from Morristown West High School. In 2018, Phillips helped the Lady Trojans to a 25-10 record behind her .432 batting average, .452 on-base percentage, 36 runs scored and 48 hits.

Those efforts placed her on the first-team IMAC All-Conference team.

"Laken has tremendous physical tools that should lead to a huge upside for her," Richardson said.
