HARROGATE, Tenn. – The LMU beach volleyball team begins the 2018 campaign this weekend as they make the short trip to Carson-Newman Saturday for a 1:00 pm meeting with the Eagles.
The Lady Railsplitters open their third season of competition looking to build on the success of last season, when they went 10-12, including a perfect 6-0 record against schools from the state of Tennessee.
LMU returns seven players from last year's team, including Lindsay Nartker,
Beka Wachob and
Erica Whiteaker, each of whom had 11 wins last season. Coach
Jenny Michael hit the recruiting trail during the off-season and has brought in six new players to add depth to the roster this season.
Carson-Newman, who had a lot of matches cancelled last season due to weather, ended the 2017 season with a 2-6 record. They only return one player from last season's roster.
Following this weekend, LMU will be off until March 16-17, when they will play against Spring Hill, Huntingdon and Principia in the Huntingdon Beach Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama.
