MARS HILL, N.C. – Seeking the first 10-win season in program history and to remain undefeated in South Atlantic Conference play, the Lincoln Memorial University men's lacrosse team begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday by squaring off against Mars Hill.
The Railsplitters (9-1, 3-0 SAC) pushed their winning streak to seven on Saturday with an 11-8 win over Catawba in their LMU Lacrosse Complex debut. Lincoln Memorial trailed by one late in the second quarter but reeled off five unanswered goals to take the lead once and for all to remain unbeaten against SAC opponents.
Mars Hill (1-8, 0-3 SAC) is trending in the opposite direction of the Railsplitters, as the Lions have lost five straight matches since beating Shorter on February 24. The team fell to 0-3 in SAC play on Saturday with an 11-6 home loss to Coker, who LMU battered 16-5.

Kopsky had two goals and three assists to tally his high point match of the season, while Golia had two goals and two assists to become the first player in program history with over 60 points in a season. Neisler scored a season-high three goals and Tucker finished with two goals and an assist.

- During its five-match losing streak, Mars Hill has hardly even sniffed victory with an 11-6 loss to Coker, a 15-10 setback versus Wingate, a 17-7 loss to Florida Tech, a 13-5 defeat at Tusculum and a 12-3 loss at Young Harris.
- In Saturday's loss to Coker, the Lions trailed 8-1 at the half and 9-2 at the start of the fourth quarter. Mars Hill opened the fourth with a 4-0 run to cut the final margin down to five. Connor Fernandes led the Lions with two goals. Dima Ferreira had a goal and three assists.
- The Lions have been abysmal on the offensive end, ranking 55th out of 58 NCAA Division II teams in scoring output with 7.56 goals per match. On top of that, Mars Hill is dead last nationally in scoring defense with 13.33 goals allowed per match.

- The Railsplitters are 1-2 all-time against Mars Hill. Lincoln Memorial lost the first two meetings 16-7 in 2015 and 7-6 in 2016 but earned its first win in the series in 2017 with an 11-4 triumph in Mars Hill, N.C.
