Lady Railsplitters Head On Road To Face Coker

Look to move to 2-0 on the season

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coming off a season-opening win over Newberry to start off head coach Devan Carter's tenure, the Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team will look to improve to 2-0 on the season and in conference play as they take on the Coker Cobras on Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the DeLoach Center in Hartsville, S.C.

Last Time Out
In their home, season, and conference opener, the Lady Railsplitters defeated the Newberry College Wolves 66-56 to give head coach Devan Carter the 80th win of his career and his first as a Railsplitter. Jordan Maney led the charge with 13 points, three rebounds, and five assists while Lexi Kiser had 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Lauren Flowers chipped in 10 points, while Addi Kirkpatrick and Maggie Jachimczuk held down the fort in the post as they combined for 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Versus The Cobras
LMU has a 9-6 record against the Cobras all-time and have won eight of the ten matchups since the 2015-16 season. Last season, the teams won on each other's home court as the Lady Railsplitters won 69-64 in Hartsville and Coker won 45-41 in Harrogate. LMU is going for their sixth straight win at the DeLoach Center as their last loss on the road was Jan.31, 2015.

About Coker
Picked to finish eleventh in the SAC's preseason poll, the Cobras are led by first-year head coach Melissa DeVore, who was named to the position just six weeks ago. Coker will have a very different look this season as they graduated leading scorer and rebounder Erin Houser, who averaged 12.2 points and 10.4 rebounds. Junior Saquita Joyner returns after averaging 9.7 points and five rebounds per contest, while junior Hope Richardson averaged 7.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.

Looking Ahead
LMU will come back home for one game as they host Tusculum on Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. inside B. Frank "Tex" Turner Arena. They will then go on the road for a non-conference contest as they will face Bluefield State (W.Va.) on Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m.
