The Lincoln Memorial women's tennis team was picked to finish eighth in the 13-team South Atlantic Conference in a poll of the league's head coaches, the SAC office announced Friday.
 
The Railsplitters went 16-10 (5-7 SAC) a season ago to tie for eighth in the conference with Limestone. Interim head coach Hugo Retortillo enters his first season leading the team.
 
Wingate topped the preseason poll with 139 points, while Newberry (123) and Tusculum (115) were picked to finish second and third in the league, respectively.
 
Lincoln Memorial begins its season on Feb. 4 with a match against Belmont Abbey at the Indoor Tennis Facility.
