East Stroudsburg, PA- The men and women's wrestling squads opened their 2023-24 season at the East Stroudsburg Open hosted by East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 5th.

Ten male wrestlers participated in the tournament for the Railsplitters. Hernand Pinto highlighted a third place finish in the 125 pound weight class with a record of 3-1 in his collegiate debut. Adam Szewczyk went 3-2 in his matchups on Sunday, finishing sixth in the 133 pound weight class. Wrestling in the 184 pound class, Michael Nunn finished sixth coming off of his previous redshirt year. James Thaxton also placed in his weight class, finishing third among those in the 141 pound class.

Lincoln Memorial would showcase five female wrestlers in the tournament. Calista Gibson, Stephanie Castro, and Jenna Blinkewicz would all post wins from the tournament in the 136, 143, and 155 pound weight classes, respectively. 

LMU will be back in action on Wednesday, November 8th, with the men taking on Coker University in a conference matchup, starting at 6 PM in Mary Mars Gymnasium in Harrogate.
