Montgomery, AL- The men's and women's wrestling teams returned to action for their first event of 2024 at Huntingdon College. Both squads placed ninth in their respective open tournaments.

The women's side featured four wrestlers, all of which who placed in their respective weight classes. Ashley Morris earned third place in the 123-pound weight class, going 3-1 in her matches. Calista Gibson would place fourth in the 130-pound weight class. Fourth place in the 136-pound weight class would go to Stephanie Castro, earning two wins. Also gaining two wins in the tournament was Jenna Blinkewicz, who would finish fifth in the 155-pound weight class.

The men featured 11 wrestlers, with three placing. Porter Finstad posted a sixth place finish in the 125-pound weight class, earning four wins in the tournament. Also gaining four wins was Kade Millsaps, who placed fourth in the 141-pound weight class. Nicholas Krauss would round out the placing wrestlers for the men, earning sixth place in the 165-pound weight class.

Both squads will return to the mat on Friday, January 12th, for a dual with Emmanuel University (GA) in Harrogate, TN, at Mary Mars Gymnasium, starting at 7 PM.
