Harrogate, TN- The Lincoln Memorial Men's and Women's Cross Country squads will travel to Spartanburg, SC this Saturday, November 9th, to take on the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships. Both teams hold Top 10 Regional rankings, with the men sitting at ninth and the women in fourth. The races will take place at Milliken Research Park with the races set to begin at 9 AM.
Both teams are coming off solid performances at the SAC Championships where the men would finish fourth and the women would make the podium in third as a team. Leading the way for the men's team was
Marig Engelbrecht, who posted a 16th place finish with an 8k time of 24:58.72 and earn SAC Third Team All-Conference honors.
Simon Fillers would join him in the Top 25, while
Jaxson Branham would round out the top three performers on the men's squad. The women are led by
Grace Rose, who has continuously posted top performances on the season, including her most recent fifth place finish with her 6k time of 21:49.17 to help earn her SAC First Team All-Conference nod.
Jacie Begley has made a statement of her own on the course this year, earning SAC Freshman of the Year, All-Freshman Team, and Second Team All-Conference honors.
Reaghan Curde also earned herself All-Conference accolades, placing 15th at conference.
The top three team finishers in each region will automatically advance to the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships.Â
