Spartanburg, SC- Lincoln Memorial Cross Country would post an impressive performance today at the NCAA DII Cross Country Southeast Regional as the women would finish fourth in the 26 team field with four runners earning All-Region honors. The men would finish 8th as a team in their 28 team field, with one runner making the All-Region list.
The Lincoln Memorial women finished with a total time of 1:52:27 in the 6K as four women would make the Top 25 in the 182 runner field.
Grace Rose's 21:53.6 would earn her 11th while
Reaghan Curde would post a 22:18.7 18th place finish. Finishing 22nd and 23rd would be
Jacie Begley (22:30.7) and
Weslyn McIntosh (22:32.9), respectively. All four would earn All-Region honors for their performances.Â
Joining them with All-Region nods would be
Simon Fillers. His 31:16.1 time in the 10K would earn him 22nd place.
Marig Engelbrecht would follow him with a 26th place finish on a 31:21.3 time.Â
Coach Kavalunas said this following the races:Â "Really strong and gutsy races today from both the mens and womens teams.
Simon Fillers just had a great race. He steadily moved up through the race, what an outstanding performance to make All-Region. Â The women ran very strong as a pack. And to have four women in the top 25 and make All-Region is a great accomplishment. This is a really tough region and for the women to finish 4th, highest ever is a great accomplishment."
Lincoln Memorial awaits at-large individual and team selections on Monday.Â
