Salisbury, NC- LMU's Dilyara Bulambayeva finished first place overall at the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championship this week. Her performance earns her First Team All-Tournament honors. The team finished tied for third in the 13 team field, finishing with rounds of 304-291-311 for a total 906 (+54). LMU finishes behind the team champion in Anderson (+27) and the runner-up in Limestone (+51).
Bulambayeva shot rounds of 73-70-75 on the par-71 course to total 218 (+5) in the tournament. Her tournament includes a 72.7 stroke average, tallying 43 par or better holes throughout her three rounds. Lauren Martin and Rachel Mathieson would also put up under-par rounds in the tournament for the Lady Splitters. Martin would finish tied for fifth overall on her 77-70-75 performance for a total 222 (+9). Mathieson would shoot a total 225 (+12) from rounds of 74-71-80 for a 12th place tie. Carley Downhour and Caitlin Thomas rounded out the lineup for the team in the tournament. Downhour would finish 42nd with a 241 (+28) showing while Thomas would finish 49th with her 255 (+42).
Bulambayeva marks only the second female golfer to win the SAC Tournament, the first being Lindsay Davis (now Dr. Lindsay Haywood) in 2015.
