Women's Soccer Back At Home Against Carson-Newman Wednesday

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team is back at home this week as they will host the Carson-Newman Eagles on Wednesday, October 15th at 5 pm. 

Wednesday's meeting will be the 35h all-time meeting between LMU and C-N, and the Railsplitters fall short in the series 11-20-3. The most recent match up between the two teams was last season on October 16th, 2024, where Lincoln Memorial defeated Carson-Newman on the road 1-0. The last time LMU was victorious over the Eagles at home was On March 30, 2021, where the Railsplitters came out on top over Carson-Newman 2-1. 

LMU is looking to keep up the momentum from Wednesday's non conference win over Bluefield State 4-1. 
Edie Wilds scored her first two career goals in the 60th and 79th minute, with the second goal being assisted by Maya Patel. Jade Brown scored a goal in the 72nd minute and Astrid Palmblad tallied a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Ellie Snyder

Currently, Paige Branam is leading the team in points with 12, accounting for five goals and two assists. Snyder follows with nine points for four goals and one assist. Viktoria Filsner is the team-leader in shots with 24 and shots on goal with 14. Goalkeeper Emma Cooke has registered 50 saves on the season so far. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Filsner is 7th in total assists (4). Branam is 5th in the conference in game-winning goals (2), 5th in total goals (5) , and 6th in total points (12). Cooke is 2nd in the conference in saves per game (4.70), and 2nd in total saves (50). 

As a team, LMU is 3nd in saves per game (4.82), 2nd in corner kicks per game (6.64), and 3rd in shots on goal per game (7.36).

Carson-Newman is coming off of a 3-0 win over Young Harris on October 8th. 

The Railsplitters are entering Wednesday with a 5-4-2 overall record and a conference record of 1-3-1. In the SAC, LMU is 7th place in the standings. 

The Eagles are going into the midweek contest with a 6-3-1 overall record and 2-2-1 conference record. C-N is tied for 4th in the SAC standings with Tusculum. 

Saturday's contest will feature a Blackout theme, with fans encouraged to wear black in support of the Railsplitters and create an electric home atmosphere.

Kickoff is set for 5 pm in at LMU Lacrosse Complex. The match will be streamed on FloCollege, and the link to the live stream along with live stats can be found below.
