Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial University Head Softball Coach Ritchie Richardson has announced the hiring of Caitlin Gambone as an Assistant Coach for the Lady Railsplitters. Gambone arrives in Harrogate after three seasons at Bradley University (Peoria, Ill.), where she served as the Braves' hitting coach and helped the program to a fifth-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2024.
Gambone brings proven championship experience from Ohio Dominican University, where she helped guide the Panthers to a 53–17 Great Midwest Athletic Conference record across the 2019, 2021, and 2022 seasons. During that span, ODU captured the 2019 regular-season title and made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances (2021, 2022) after winning the G-MAC Tournament in both years. Her student-athletes earned three NFCA All-Region honors, five first-team all-conference selections, and 17 total all-league awards, with ODU producing the league's Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year in 2022.
Beyond collegiate seasons, Gambone served as a Head Coach in the Florida Gulf Coast League, the first collegiate softball league in Sarasota, Fla., and has been an instructor at Diamond Dreams Sports Academy. She began coaching with the Ohio Lasers travel program (2014–18) and Canton Spikes Baseball (2017).
A 2018 graduate of the University of Akron with a degree in marketing management, Gambone started 197 of 207 career games for the Zips and ranks among Akron's top 10 in career games played, sacrifices, and assists.
The Lady Railsplitters will enter the upcoming season looking to build on recent momentum under the current staff, now bolstered by Gambone's hitting expertise and championship experience.
