Women's Basketball Looking To Extend Win Streak As They Travel To Coker Saturday

Hartsville, SC - The Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team will travel to Hartsville, SC to face the Coker Cobras Saturday afternoon as they seek to extend their winning streak to 3. 

This will be the 23rd time that Lincoln Memorial and Coker will play each other, with the Lady Railsplitters winning the series 15-7. Saturdays competition will be the second time this season that the two teams will face each other, with the first time being January 11th, 2025 in Harrogate, where the Lady Railsplitters fell short 55-62. The last time LMU and Coker played each other in Hartsville was last season in January of 2024, and Lincoln Memorial came out victorious 55-43.

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 55-53 win against UVA Wise, were three Lady Railsplitters tallied double-digits. Alexa Smiddy posted a game-high 17 points, and Kamil Collier and Lexi Patty both scored 13 points. Collier was the team-leader in rebounds with 8, and Smiddy led in assists with 4.

Currently, Smiddy is the team-leader in scoring with 14.4 points per game, with Collier also recording a double-digit average with 12.9 points per game. Collier is leading the team in rebounding average with 9.0 rebounds per game, with Matty Tanner behind her with 4.6 per game. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Smiddy is 2nd the conference in assist/turnover ratio with 1.38,and 2nd in assists and assists per game with 105 assists for an average of 4.4 assists per game. Smiddy is also ranked 3rd in the conference in three point percentage with 37.7%, 3rd in three pointers with 52, and 3rd in three pointers per game with 2.17. Collier is ranked 3rd in the SAC in double-doubles with 8, 3rd in rebounds per game with 9, 3rd in defensive rebounds per game with 6, and 6th in offensive rebounds per game with 3. Tanner is 5th in the conference in three-poin percentage with 31.4%, 2nd in three pointers with 54, and 2nd in three-pointers per game with 2.25. 

As a team, Lincoln Memorial is ranked 2nd in the SAC in free-throw percentage with 74.2%, 3rd in scoring defense with 62.7, 5th in three-point percentage with 31.5%, 1st in three-point percentage defense with 25.4%, and 2nd in three-pointers per game with 7.8. Natinally, LMU is ranked 15th in the nation in three-point percentage defense with 25.4%. 

Coker is coming off of a 84-44 win against Newberry. 

Lincoln Memorial's record is 11-13 overall and 10-11 in the SAC, and LMU is currently tied for 7th in the SAC standings. Coker's record is 23-2 overall and 19-2 in the conference, and they are currently in 1st in the SAC standings.

Tip-off is set for 2 pm in Hartsville, SC.
