Women's Basketball Hosts Carson-Newman Eagles Wednesday

Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team is looking to sweep the series as they host rival Carson-Newman on Wednesday with tip-off set for 5:30 pm.

Wednesday's match up will be the second time that the two teams will be facing each other this season. The first match was January 8th in Jefferson City in which the Lady Railsplitters defeated the Eagles – 71-67. The last time LMU and C-N played each other in Harrogate was in January of 2024, where Lincoln Memorial also came out victorious 82-78 in double overtime.

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 53-62 loss against Coker. Kamil Collier recorded her 9th double-double of the season as she scored 19 points and 11 rebounds. Alexa Smiddy also posted double-digits, scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds.

Currently, Smiddy is leading the team in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game, with Collier behind her with 13.2 points per game. Collier is the team-leader in rebounds with 9.1 rebounds per game, and Lexi Patty is second with 4.6 rebounds per game.

In the South Atlantic Conference, Smiddy is 2nd in the conference in assists with 107, 2nd in the conference in assists per game with 4.3, 10th in points per game with 14.4, 2nd in three-point percentage with 38.7%, 2nd in three-pointers made with 55, and 2nd in three-pointers per game with 2.20. Collier is ranked fifth in the conference in rebounds with 227, 3rd in defensive rebounds with 6.1, 3rd in rebounds per game with 9.1, and 10th in free-throw percentage with 74.5%. Tanner is 5th in three-point percentage with 30.9%, 3rd in three pointers made with 54, and 3rd in three-pointers per game with 2.16.

As a team, Lincoln Memorial is 5th in free-throw percentage with 73.6%, 3rd in scoring defense with 62.7, fifth in three-point percentage with 31.7%, 1st in three-point percentage defense with 25.3%, and 2nd in three-pointers per game with 7.7.
Carson-Newman is coming off of a 84-68 win against Emory & Henry. 

Lincoln Memorial's record is 11-14 overall and 10-12 in the SAC, and LMU is currently in 8th in the SAC standings. Carson-Newman's record is 20-6 overall and 17-5 in the conference, and they are currently in 2nd in the SAC standings.

Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm in Tex Turner Arena. It is also blue out; wear your blue and support!
