Box Score Rock Hill, SC – Lincoln Memorial women's basketball falls to the Coker Cobras 44-52 in the SAC semifinals.
The Lady Railsplitters started out the game strong, as they limited the Cobras to only add six in the first quarter compared to LMU's 13, with Lincoln Memorial going 3/4 from beyond the arch.
Asia Barr led the team in the first with six points as she went 2/3 from the three.
The Cobras picked up the momentum in the second frame, outscoring Lincoln Memorial 5-18 and out rebounding LMU 11-8. With the increased offensive pressure from Coker, Lincoln Memorial went into halftime falling 18-24.
Quarter three was the closet quarter yet, as Lincoln Memorial scored 12 but Coker added 15, with Collier scoring seven points. Lincoln Memorial went into the final quarter trailing 30-39.
The fourth quarter was just as much as a battle as the third, as LMU outscored Coker 14-13, with Collier contributing nine points. Despite the late efforts by Lincoln Memorial, Coker took the victory 44-52.
Collier led the team with her 20
th double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds, followed by
Lexi Patty with eight points and
Asia Barr with six points.
Keiara Anderson and
Alexa Smiddy both finished with three points, as Anderson grabbed four rebounds and Smiddy secured six.
Kallie Housley rounded out the scoring with two points.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial went 32.1% from the field, 23.8% from the three, and 3/6 from the free throw line.
LMU scored 24 points in the paint, 11 points off of Coker Turnovers, and five fast break points.
With the loss, LMU drops to 25-4 overall, and the Cobras improve to 24-6 overall and advance to the South Atlantic Conference Championship game.
Lincoln Memorial's run in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament comes to an end in the semifinal round. The team now awaits their seeding for the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament, with the selection show scheduled for Sunday, March 8 at 10:30 p.m. EST
