HARROGATE, Tenn. -- The LMU women's basketball team will try to continue their winning ways as they host local rival King University Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Tex Turner Arena.
The Lady Railsplitters come into the game with a 3-0 record after a 69-52 win at Cumberlands on Tuesday. In that contest
Rachel Griffith had a career high 11 points,
Emily Griffith and
Sydney Duggins chipped in nine points apiece and Josey Harding grabbed in 10 rebounds. For the second conseuctive game LMU held their opponents to less than 30 percent shooting from the field.
The game will be broadcast on the LMU Sports Network. A video stream will be available online and locally on Sunset Digital Broadband and Vyve Broadband TV.
LINCOLN MEMORIAL VS. KING
· This will be the only meeting between the two schools this season.
· In King's last appearance in the Tex Turner Arena (12-17-2014), the Tornado took advantage of 27 LMU turnovers to pull out the 61-41 win.
Stephanie Smith led LMU with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
· Saturday's game vs. King will be LMU's penultimate non-conference game this season. After this, LMU hosts Lees-McRae on Nov. 26 and then enters South Atlantic Conference play for the rest of the season.
· King comes into the contest with a 2-1 record. King lost their first game of the season Wednesday evening as they were overthrown by Carson-Newman 107-71 in Jefferson City.
· After Saturday's contest, LMU will open SAC play Tuesday evening as they make the short trip to Jefferson City for their 90th all-time meeting with arch-rival Carson-Newman.
SCOUTING LMU
· The Lady Railsplitters come into Tuesday with a 3-0 record for the first time since the 1998-99 season.
· Should they win, LMU would improve to 4-0 for the first time since the 1991-92 season and the third time in the modern era.
· LMU enters the game with a program record of 823-480-1 in 75 seasons of competition.
· The win over #21 Lander was LMU's first win over a ranked opponent since they upset #20 Carson-Newman 56-54 last season.

Megan Pittman is currently leading the team in both scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.5 rpg).
· Freshman
Sydney Duggins ended the first two games of her career averaging 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds a game, second on the team to Pittman in both categories.
· LMU is outshooting their opponents 41.7 percent to 32.3 percent this season.
· The Lady Railsplitters under
Krystal Evans have become nationally known for their rebounding, and this year's team currently is out-rebounding opponents by 11.0 rebounds a game. In the
Krystal Evans era, LMU has outrebounded their opponents in 51 of the 61 games played.
· With her 5-6 performance at the charity strip against Cumberlands,
Josey Harding has moved into the LMU top 25 in career made free throws. Harding also became only the 17th Lady Railsplitter to surpass the 500 rebound mark in that game and is one rebound shy of tying 16th place with Sis Lawhead (1980-82). She also ranks seventh in career offensive rebounds.
· Josey Harding has tied Brandy Brown (1994-98) for fifth place on the all-time blocks list with 91.
LAST TIME VS. KING
· After falling behind by five points late in the fourth quarter, LMU rallied to tie the game with six seconds left and then outscored King 15-7 in overtime to take the 78-70 win in Bristol.
· King led by five points at the half only to see the Lady Railsplitters surge ahead late in the third quarter. The Tornado then went on a run of their own to take a five point lead with 3:22 left only to see LMU come back and tie the game at the end of regulation.
· Megan Pittman's 15 point and 15 rebound double-double led the way for LMU in the win.
· Shea Coker and
Britney Guy added in 14 points each and
Sydnie Anderson chipped in 11 points.
· Whitney Mitchell led King with 16 points and Jalen Harper added in 13.
· LMU outrebounded King 50-33.
SERIES VS. KING
· According to records, this is the 26th meeting in the series, dating back to the 1974 season.
· LMU leads the series 22-3 overall and 11-2 in Harrogate. (8-0 in the Mars Gym and 3-2 in the Tex Turner Arena)
· All of King's wins in the series have come since the series was re-started in 2006 when King began the move to the NCAA Division II ranks.
SCOUTING KING
· King has a veteran roster as the Tornado return 11 players from last year's team. They only have three freshmen.
· Sheena Johnson leads King in scoring with a 19.3 point per game average. Whitney Mitchell is scoring 12.3 points a game at the moment and Arnelle Collins has a 12.0 ppg average.
· Amy Van Deventer currently leads King on the boards with 7.0 rebounds a game.
· King Coach Josh Thompson enters the contest with a 77-67 record at King. He is in his 6th season at King. Counting his time at Nyack he has a 150-219 career record entering Saturday.
· King compiled a 19-12 record last season, losing to second-ranked Limestone in the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game.
· Senior Ashley Albertson is the top returning scorer for King. She averaged 11.3 points a game last season. Van Deventer is the leading returning rebounder (6.8 rpg) and averaged 10.5 points a game last season.
· King opened the season with wins over Tusculum and Mars Hill in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge that was hosted by King.
· The third quarter had been King's Achilles Heel thus far this season as they have been outscored 75-59 in that frame to this point.
